The Restaurant Bucket List...

This is another magnet that is on my frig. By the end of this post you may understand why I thought it was a good picture to use here....

Several weeks ago we rented the movie "The Bucket List". It was a movie that we had wanted to see for some time before we knew of Tim's cancer. So we rented it and although I worried about seeing a movie with dying as a storyline, we decided to watch it. We loved it --it was an excellent movie!

After watching it and talking about what was ahead for us, we got to laughing that we needed not a "bucket list" but rather a "bucket restaurant list" since in the not too distant future Tim will not be able to eat and will have a feeding tube. So, Tim was naming off the places that he would go to eat if he could and I asked him how we were going to pay for that....of course, we weren't going to pay for it because we weren't going anyway because it was a "wish list". That was a few weeks ago..... Since then we've laughed together with people about the "restaurant bucket list".

Last night we had a couple from church come by to ask us what restaurants were on the bucket list because there were people that wanted to be able to give us gift cards to the places that Tim wants to go before he can no longer eat. We are overwhelmed at the kindness extended to us. We have such a wonderful church family. We have seen them come together many times over the 13 years we have lived here but never did we dream we would be on the receiving end. We are so honored to know wonderful people with such big hearts. Only being able to say "thank you" to people who are doing so much for us feels inadequate; it does not feel like it is enough. We are being shown many examples of love and service that we plan to be able to re-pay in kind one day.

So we have our restaurant bucket list that may add some pounds -- pounds that TIM needs but I do not! :) Remember......Thou Shall Not Weigh More Than Thy Refrigerator.....after the restaurant bucket list is completed. :) Tonight....Rafferty's here we come!

I read a great quote by CS Lewis: "We are not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be."

Thought you might relate.

I hope you have fun on your bucket restaurant list! What a fun idea, and how much more fun it is that so many are able and willing to share to help you with the list! Enjoy, and eat your heart out!
