Happy Birthday To Me...

The ice storm began on Monday night or the wee hours of Tuesday morning. I am not sure as I was snuggled in my bed with visions of winter storms dancing in my head! :)

Most of you know that I love winter. Each year I hope for snow and lots of it! Where we live we seem to always be on the invisible dividing line where the snow goes north and seems to miss us more often than not. The two exceptions to that was in 1996 when we had a delightful 22" of snow and school was closed for a week and in 2003 when we had a slippery slide with an ice storm that bought 1 1/2" of ice to Lexington. We are south of Lexington so we saw less ice but it was spectacular none the less! Now don't get me wrong, I don't want people to get hurt but bad weather is exciting, edgy, fun and totally what I long for each winter. Snow me in...or in this case, ice me in, I'll be just fine!

After the ice then the snow came! It was fabulous -- huge, fluffy, fat flakes! (say THAT three times fast!) :) It covered the ground quickly and I was in winter heaven. In case you have any doubt.....this weather was for ME! I just know it was because today is my birthday and I can't think of a better present to give me than a fabulous winter storm!

My present to you are my pictures of the winter storm!

I'm with you. I love a good, hardy winter. We should move to Minnesota or soemthing, eh? Supposedly Montana gets snow like crazy everywhere... except Great Falls. ::sigh:: The ice, although it's not nice, sure is beautiful and crystaline! I love it too. Good luck with the radiation and chemo. I know it's not going to be fun, but hopefully the yuckiness of it will be worth it!

Totally cool pics! AND, while I love the mild AZ winters, I must say, I miss a good snow day with a good book and a fire in the fireplace once in a while! Happy Birthday!

I agree completely! And hey...we have snow here for my B-day too!
Stay safe on those roads!
Happy Birthday Day!

wonderful pics! I would prefer ice over snow cause it typically melts sooner, as opposed to the foot+ of snow I have had in my front yard for more than a month! urg.... I have had the priviledge of reading through your blog.... I have enjoyed it and it is good to see you and your family! I will keep you all in my prayers!

I have enjoyed being off this week. It's been a much needed break for me and I've done nothing...absolutely nothing, and I'm ok with that! Glad your birthday was delightful and I loved your pictures! You have an eye on ya Sista!
