It doesn't look like much, does it? But that is my vampire spider bite! Of course, I am not sure it was a spider but it is not too far out of the realm of possibilility.
I went to UTC this morning and they were puzzled by my "bite". They too think it is a bite and they also think that it is getting infected. He said that there is so much staph around that we shouldn't take the chance of not treating it like it is infected. (Not to mention that there has been 2 cases of MRSA in the school that I work in!!!) Okay...I am nervous about MRSA so I decided that although I saw the UTC doctor, I would feel better to go to my own physican and get his opinion about it and be sure I am on the right meds. I just got a little nervous when the UTC doc said if I wasn't better to come back. I asked, "How long should I wait to feel better?" He hesistated and said, "Uhh, if you're not better after you finished the medication come back." Ummmm, the meds are for 10 days -- I could be dead by then if the meds aren't right!!!! (okay -- that was a little dramatic!) So, I will go to my doc tomorrow, blow another $20 for a co-pay and hopefully find that I am being treated correctly! :)
***When I titled this post I was just making up the "vampire spider" but apparently (thanks to my son Googling it) there really IS a vampire spider! Who Knew? Not me!! :)

Hey Loretta, I had heard of a vampire spider before so at first I did think you were serious! Wow, you been reading those Twilight books? Maybe it was a REAL vampire and now, if you survive, you will be one too!! ha ha ha I hope it gets better, looks rather nasty. I agree, go to your real doc!
