Daniel asked and Abigail said yes!
Before Daniel asked Abigail he called to ask permission to marry our daughter. As parents we very much appreciated the opportunity to give our blessing to their marriage. Not that they "needed" our approval or permission but it says to us that he respects us and even more importantly, our daughter.
